Chapter 02 · The Team

Meet Kobi Rhodes & Isabela de Sousa

A Grand Prix horseman and a USEF Junior Equestrian of the Year — producing top hunter, jumper, and equitation horses in Wellington, Florida.

Owner & Head TrainerKobi Rhodes

Kobi Rhodes' competitive riding career took him from Israel to Los Angeles to England, where he trained under Fred Welsh — the coach behind legendary international show jumpers. He competed at the Grand Prix level before bringing his elite expertise home to Wellington, Florida.

At Kobi's Place, Kobi focuses on what matters most: conditioning horses to peak performance and teaching riders how to communicate effectively with their horse. He believes this personalized approach — combined with commitment and consistency — is what separates his program. The results prove it: his horses and riders consistently compete at the highest levels across the East Coast.

Kobi specializes in finding and bringing along horses suited to Junior and Adult Amateur riders — and every partnership is bound by a code of ethics that puts the wellbeing of the horse, and the right match for the rider, first.

"We develop horses and riders in a family-oriented environment — with world-class training, expert coaching, and a curated selection of sale and lease horses for riders of all levels."

Co-Trainer

Isabela de Sousa

Isabela, a 25-year-old rider from Lexington, Kentucky, brings her own impressive pedigree to the team. A 2018 USEF Junior Equestrian of the Year, she grew up in the hunter/jumper world and trained with Daniel Bluman.

She gained valuable international experience developing young horses in Europe and has successfully retrained off-the-track thoroughbreds. Today, Isabela is focused on producing top equitation, hunter, and show jumping horses at Kobi's Place — her talent evident in her results. Many of the horses she has produced now compete successfully with their owners, including the 2025 WEF 7-Year-Old Category winner she has developed since the horse was four.
